Bequet Confections Caramels anyone??

I don’t have a sweet tooth at all.  I rarely eat dessert, and I sure as hell don’t eat candy.  I will say though that after trying several different kinds of caramels made by Bequet Confections out of Bozeman, I have discovered a new found glory (not the band, they were discovered years ago).

Kate got some caramels for Christmas from someone, and I’ve seen them around in various local shops and restaurants.  They have several kinds but my fav is the Celtic Sea Salt and the Chipotle.  Chipotle caramels you say???  Hot damn, that’s right!  Just one sample will have you saying, “WELL SHIT THE BED AND CALL ME MARTHA!!!  THEMS ARE GOOD….WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOHOOOOOHOOOO!!!!!   HOO.”

Animal from The Muppets

I keep hearing that I look like this guy when I’m on stage flailing around, especially if I’m playing drums. Must be the intensity and hair……or perhaps my inaudible grumblings and random bursts of vocalized energy.

Is being compared to a Muppet a sign that I’m a desperado at the end of my pitiful rope?  Could it be that I have infinite juvenile qualities of my demeanor???  I guess it could be worse……maybe this video will help…

Hell’s Belles

I know you’ve heard of the all female AC/DC tribute band Hell’s Belles, and if for some shitty reason you haven’t, consider yourself informed. All you need to know is that these ladies put on one HELL (paaaahhhhh!) of a show!! Every venue they play is at capacity and the showmanship is unreal.

Adrian (Angus) runs around like a banshee in that school outfit and plays like she got shot out of a cannon. Although I’m biased, my fav is Jamie (Brian Johnson). We went to high school together back in Minnesota, and she has a swagger and charisma that can only be rivaled by her voice.

Bring the posse and go show them some love in Missoula tonight (Badlander) and at the Zebra in The ‘Zone tamale night (Sat. 7th)!!! PEEPS BE OUT!!!

Lone Peak Brewing

LONE PEAK

To close out a weekend of debaucherous celebration, the afternoon of my day of birth was spent at the Lone Peak Brewery in Big Sky. From the moment we walked in, we were smothered by the aroma of malted hops and barley mash being cooked……..beauty, Clark.

The setting itself was extremely choice ‘ne boss, with a rustic/industrial motif and a bitchin’ shuffleboard table!

We spent 3 hours sucking down suds and chucking pucks and if that wasn’t satisfying enough…..we found a party pig that we were introduced to the night before at the yurt dinner. You can rent them or buy them at the brewery, and they have coolers for them as well. I need to get my hands on one of those, man! (insert gift hint here)

ZZ Top Live From Texas

Just saw this the other day when I was checking out Palladia HD, the 24 hour live music channel, which is righteously bitchin’!

ZZ, the Almighty Top, Tres Hombres, whathaveyou, doing what they do best…playing blues in their home state of Tejas in front of a shit load of beer chugging fans. It’s pretty badass to see these fellas still playing, and playing well. From the custom guitars, to the rodded out stage, it’s a trip. They have an unmistakable brand, sound, and uniqueness (if that’s even a word) that is timeless and will never be duplicated.

I’ve also found that, after ripping through a good workout, I can’t wait to slam down a vat of lard….

What a Putz!!

I happened to stumble across this fella whilst watching SportsCenter yesterday. Spring Training coverage, etc. All I saw was the back of his jersey, and I knew I had to find out more…..

His name, JJ Putz…..and from the looks of it, he is one. Apparently he has great stuff though. The Mets picked him up from the Mariners during the offseason.

Levi knows more deets on this than I do, so if you need more info, drop him a line.

What the Puck?

Tamale is the day of reckoning……the day I’ve been waiting for this whole winter. I finally get to lace up the skates and play some pond hockey!!! My bro Joel, aka The Silverback, has an 8 acre pond on his property just outside of Florence. In the summer, we climb the Tower of Babel and swing from it into the water. However, in the winter, we play midnight hockey and take 3 wheelers out on the ice for some serious shitty-whippin’…..

We do play tamale night at the UC in Missoula, but I’ll have plenty of time to abide rinkside in the afternoon and on Sunday. Too bad Rawdge pussed out……I couldn’t wait to lay his ass out flat!!!!

Bubbleiscious!!!

Wayne Coyne of the Flaming Lips has the most killer prop for concerts that I’ve ever seen in my life.  He has a giant bubble that he gets in and out of through a zipper in the back, and is able to breathe inside it.  He climbs in sometime during the show and walks on top of the crowd…holy shit, is it sweet!! 

Now, I realize that they play at Coachella and Bonnaroo, and all those big ass festivals and we play to 2,000 people max, but dammit, I need one of those!!

Jerry Douglas in Big Sky!!

The Jimi Hendrix of dobro and bluegrass is coming to Big Sky Saturday night as part of the resort’s Big Sky Big Grass festival.  If you’ve ever seen footage or listened to any Alison Krauss and Union Station, you’ve undoubtably heard the signature sound of Jerry Douglas.  I believe he has 2 or 3 solo albums out as well now, which will blow your mind.  

Take the significant other or insignificant mate, whathaveyou (who am I to judge?), up to the mountain Saturday night and get ripped on bitchin’ bluegrass tunes, dancing, and righteous vibes.  If I didn’t already have plans, I’d be getting a room……..

Boiling River abidition!

Saturday is the maiden voyage to the Boiling River.  I’ve heard many a tale, but have yet to experience it first hand.  Should be very rite-ch!!!  I’m sure the roadtrip to and fro will be jammed packed with action and suspense, as we discover new things about each other sexually, and frolick in each others arms….

At least Kujala and I will be having a good time, who knows about Ang and Kate!

Foo Fighters at Wembley

Dave Grohl is God. OK, perhaps not literally, but he has to be considered one of the top 5 all encompassing rock stars the world has seen. Songwriter, drummer, guitarist, pianist, comedic genius, and above all……relevant since he’s been in the biz. The dude has it all and the latest release in the world of Foo carries on in that light.

“Live at Wembley” has 85,000 blokes freaking the hell out over the band and its show for worthy reasons……not only is it a killer concert, but John Paul Jones and Jimmy Page get up with the Foos and knock “Rock N’ Roll” and “Ramble On” out of the park.

Even if you don’t fight for the Foos, but you still shit your drawers over bitchin’ live concert footage, this is a must have for your collecsh.
